Greenock Cemetery
'Greenock Cemetery was opened in 1846 and was believed to be one of the largest municipal cemeteries in Europe; built on a hill with beautiful views over the town. A walk through the cemetery tells the story of Greenock with its history of trade and commerce and the people involved.'
'A booklet called "Greenock Cemetery Walks" (created by East End Advisory, funded by Inverclyde Council) includes a map, and gives details of upwards of fifty of the memorials. Although space does not allow for it to give more than brief details for each memorial, the booklet proved invaluable to me in seeking out items of interest." (Unfortunately, this Booklet no longer seems to be accessible online.)
