'Follows the River Lagan Towpath south-west from Belfast to Lisburn. Being traffic-free, the Lagan towpath is ideal for families and beginners. There are plenty of places to explore including the Lagan Valley Regional Park and the Giant's Ring megalithic tomb. The route picks up again at Craigavon and Portadown along custom-built traffic-free paths. The route follows the towpath on the western bank of the now non-navigable Newry Canal in sections between Portadown and Newry.'
