Scarborough Rambling Club
'Organises two group rambles most Sundays during the year in the beautiful countryside of Scarborough and district. Members are offered the choice of a long walk ranging generally between 10-14 miles or a short walk ranging generally between 5-9 miles. In addition, during the summer months, short walks are arranged for Thursday evenings. Occasional social events are also held.'
'Formed in 1937 as the Scarborough Branch of the CHA (Co-Operative Holiday Association) and has offered 2-3 walks a week continuously since that date. Walks are led by volunteer leaders and the Club is run by a small committee of members. In 1961 the links with the CHA were dropped and the name Scarborough Rambling Club adopted.'
