Oxford and District HF Rambling Club
'We walk between 5 and 14 miles most weekends, with a stop for either a pub lunch or a picnic on the majority of rambles. In the summer months there are shorter evening rambles. We also run two long weekend walking breaks each year and most years have a long distance walk. We hold several social activities during the year.'

Arthur Leonard took some 30 men from the Social Guild of Colne Congregational Church, at which he was the Minister, for a holiday at Ambleside in the Lake District. The weekend was a success and further holidays for people from other areas were arranged in subsequent years culminating in 1913 in the formation of the organisation which became known as the Holiday Fellowship ...'
