'The "Breath of Fresh Air" route was devised by Norman Thomas of the East Lancashire Long Distance Walkers Association. It was adopted as an official way-marked footpath in 2010 in recognition of Norman's valuable contribution to the pursuit of walking and his dedicated work for charity over many years.'
