'The PROW team protect Stockport’s footpaths, bridleways and byways by carrying out routine checks. They also respond to reports from members of the public that highlight obstructions, blockages and poor surfacing. Landowners are responsible for gates and stiles across footpaths and bridleways. The highway authority, through the PROW team, exercises powers to ensure that landowners maintain stiles and gates in a safe condition.'
