'This is a collection of journals written by Colin and Mark, two brothers from Brum, as they wander across various bits of the UK. Now, if you are looking for a formal walking guide with lots of helpful directions and great information on tourist attractions you may be disappointed. On the other hand, if you want to have a more personal view of the aches and pains (and of course the fun) of a long distance hike then choose a journal from Our Diaries and enjoy the read! '

'We work with land owners who, for a variety of reasons, want to pass on responsibility (and often liability) for the management of an area of land. Ahead of taking responsibility and "ownership" we will identify and secure appropriate long-term funding (often in perpetuity) and management regimes, ensuring that the site has a sustainable future as green open space and crucially that it delivers against our charitable objectives. We now have ownership or long term management responsibility for over 2,000 ha of land with more than 50 spaces across England and are currently working on taking our first sites in Scotland.'

'The National Three Peaks Challenge is a well known phrase amongst the more adventurous. This challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours ... The three peaks are: [1] Ben Nevis (1,344 m or 4,409 ft), the highest mountain in Scotland; [2] Scafell Pike (978 m or 3,209 ft), the highest mountain in England; [3] Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa (1,085 m or 3,560 ft), the highest mountain in Wales ... Organised versions of the National Three Peaks Challenge are available, while many groups organise their own.'

However, we must note that the Challenge is 'putting increasing pressure on the same localities throughout the summer months, with considerable negative impact on the environment, local residents, rescue services and amenities. The National Parks/Local Authorities and landowners are responding to the impact of this event by discouraging further growth and beginning to operate a stronger management regime for it'.
