'The Celtic Way is a long-distance walk from West Wales, through South Wales and into Wessex and the West of England in the United Kingdom.'
'This web site is very much "work in progress" - as is the whole Cistercian Way Project. We started in 1998 trying to work out a way that we could walk round Wales, linking all the Welsh Cistercian abbeys, medieval and modern. This was part of the celebrations of the 900th anniversary of the foundation of the Cistercian order ...'
'A new National Trail all around England's coast. It's not ready yet but work is underway to make it happen ... A similar initiative has already happened in Wales, you can find out more on the Wales Coast Path website.'
'Currently three E-Routes, E2, E8 and E9, go through Britain.'
'There is no set route for this, one of the ultimate walking challenges in the UK and whatever the chosen route, it will not be less than 850 miles. There are inherent dangers in using lanes/roads but there are various established long distance routes of which advantage can be taken to avoid such hazards ...'
'Long-distance footpath in England that approximates the escape route taken by King Charles II in 1651 after being defeated in the Battle of Worcester. From its starting point at Worcester the route travels north to Boscobel and then south to Stratford upon Avon. It then continues south to Stow on the Wold before turning south west towards Bristol via Cirencester. South of Bristol the route is almost directly south across the Mendip Hills to Wells and then on through Somerset almost to Yeovil and then south west to Charmouth. There is then a short section along the Dorset coast before turning north again to Yeovil, before turning east across the Downs to Brighton and Shoreham-by-Sea.'

'Long distance walking route running the length of Scotland from Kirk Yetholm to Cape Wrath. Devised by outdoors writer and broadcaster Cameron McNeish, the Trail offers very varied walking, following long-established footpaths for much of the distance but becoming progressively more difficult as it heads north, finishing with a tough stretch of backpacking - with some pathless and demanding terrain - on the final stretch of the Cape Wrath Trail.'

'One of the best walks in the world, where else can you walk along 630 miles of such superb coastline? The heritage, wildlife, geology and scenery along the way are truly inspirational. This Trail really is the walk of a lifetime. The Trail has its own Website full of information - visit it here.'
'Circular long distance walking route that is one of the longest in the United Kingdom and Ireland.'
'Developed by the Welsh Government in partnership with Natural Resources Wales (incorporating the former Countryside Council for Wales), sixteen local authorities and two National Parks. In addition to funding from the Welsh Government and the coastal local authorities of approximately £2 million per year, the European Regional Development Fund has allocated nearly £4 million over four years in support of the project.'
'A "hop on, hop off" circular long distance hike ... For years I've wanted to plan a walk that links the official Yorkshire long distance trails into a circular route, linking the Ways with high peaks in some of the wildest parts of Yorkshire. The Wild Yorkshire Way is the result ... Very few people will attempt the entire route in one go, but you can enjoy sections of the route, or even single day walks, and slowly complete the walk by filling in the missing sections. The route prefers high and wild terrain wherever possible, although the wildest and hardest sections usually have easier alternatives. You will notice that several day walks start and end at pubs, which is of course entirely intentional ...'
